~ I don't think Eliot was ever crazy, but Audra disagrees heartily.

~You said you loved them/us, John, but I'm not sure.
3. Men, Women, and Cats by VanDoren (2)
~What an opinionated mess of condemnation and pretentious, old-fashioned fuss!
4. A Feast of Snakes by Crews (3)
~It grossed me out to the point of slamming it shut.
5. Phantom Tollbooth by Juster (3.5)
~ Not thrilling, but a nice trot through the nuances of English.
6. A Man Without a Country by Vonnegut (4.5)
~I read it in an hour and laughed 3/4 of it.

~His only children's book, full of wry wit and very short.

~I want to be Mack, only not screw things up badly.

~Madeleine read it to me in the car. Better than radio.
