The PBS game link was not meant to frustrate anyone. I posted it to the wrong blog. It's a tricky game-- beware!-- the junk food boy will almost always catch up to you and throw imitation Snickers bars into your cart, causing a devastating loss. I apologize for any damages inflicted on self-esteem.
My stats, as tracked by Google's 1984 omniscient/creepster team, look a little bit like the progression of the Appalachian mountain range over the last 20,000 years, starting high on February 1 and tapering off into foothills that measure 1-view tall. I suppose that is my fault for being so inconsistent a blogger. I will try to pick up the slack.
Here is a link to an awareness project created by Urban Ministries in Durham. The game is called SPENT , and you need to make it through the month on your last $1000. The game is super stressful, but incredibly realistic. The economy is hitting hard in Siler City. Several of my students are moving back to Mexico, and strangely enough, the ones who are leaving have higher test scores and performance abilities. I know that correlation doesn't admit causation, but the trend is interesting.
I am updating the book list and adding a new category. Books I didn't Finish and Don't Plan on Finishing. Ever. Even my quitting requires some merit.
